A Little Bit of This and That

Usually from January through the end of March there is absolutely nothing going on in our house, but this year has been a bit different.  I normally do a lot of stamping to pass the time, but once again not this year.  We've had so much going on in our lives that I keep wondering where the three longest months of the year have gone.  I won't bore you with everything we have been doing and I know you come here for the stamping, but I do want to share a few things.  I normally don't share much about our personal life, but I realized a few weeks ago as I was looking back through my blog that it's not only an online journal of my creativity, but my life as well.  I also have a few blog related things I want to share in this post too.  Or more like goals I've accomplished so far this year.  I promise...if you make it through this whole post I won't write another one like this for about six months.  lol

Mike and I had to do a small renovation on a rental house we own last month which took a couple of weeks to complete.  Luckily we had two fantastic friends and family to help out.  We worked in shifts for about two weeks.  I took the day shift and Mike took the evening shift.  The boys were so happy when it was all done and our daily routines returned to normal.

Gavin started feeling the many pressures and stress of being 10 at the beginning of the year as well.  lol  I won't elaborate on the subject, but he is finally doing much better and back to normal.  Even through all of his "stress" he still managed to make straight A's once again this quarter.  We are so proud of him.  Gavin, Mike and I did manage to take time out and visit the National World War I Museum last month as well.  Gavin loves History so this was a fun little trip for us.  The museum was awesome and we finished the day off by eating at one of our favorite places...Oklahoma Joes.  Which by the way has been featured on the Travel Channel's Man Vs. Food.  If you're ever in Kansas City and looking for the best BBQ in town...this is the place to go.

Chase...well there is always something surprising coming out of his mouth.  He talks in sentences now for the most part, even though I'm the only one who understands what he is saying most of the time.  lol  You just never know what he is going to say.  He keeps us on our toes for sure.  He is also completely different from my somewhat shy Gavin.  Chase loves an audience and is always ready to perform...even for complete strangers.

Since I always seem to have my phone attached to me and take lots of random pictures with it, I decided to start putting together photo collages of my phone pictures using an iphone app called Photo Wall.  I thought I might start sharing them on here once in awhile.  I actually got the idea from Tiffany Bauer over at My Crafty World who shared a photo collage a couple of weeks ago.  Below is one of the collages that I've put together over the last couple of weeks of my two precious boys.

I also want to give big thanks to Margaret over at Black Shadow Creations and Beth over at Crafty Creations By Beth.  These ladies both have fantastic blogs of their own and always have the cutest creations posted.  Anyway, they both presented me with the Liebster Blog Award last week.  The purpose of this award is help bring new traffic to blogs with fewer than 200 followers.  I also have to pass it on to five blogs...which by the way is very hard to do.  lol  I have several blogs I look at one a regular basis, but the less than 200 followers helped narrow it down.  These ladies are fairly new to the blog world like me.  Anyway, my five choices are listed below in no particular order.  Make sure you stop by these blogs and check out their craftiness.

Once again...big thanks to Margaret and Beth for their kindness!

I also recently opened an Etsy Store.  This is something that I've wanted to do for quite sometime so I made it one of my goals at the beginning of the year.  Last week I finally got several of my projects posted and even sold my first four items.  Needless to say, I was very excited.

With the help of my wonderful husband Mike, I also started a business page on Facebook.  This too was one of my goals for this year.  I finally decided to crawl out from underneath my rock and join the Facebook world.  lol  So if you're a fan of Carrie's Scrapyard feel free to click the link below and like my page!

I now have printable gift certificates available.  Once you purchase the gift certificate you can immediately print it off.  They are located under the "For Sale" tab at the top of the page.

Lastly, I promise...I now have a Monthly Newsletter as well.  If you are interested in signing up for it's located on the right hand side under the "Subscribe"  I try and not only share the monthly Stampin' Up promotions, but I try and share projects, sometimes tutorials, my own special coupons once in awhile and well a few other things I can't think of at the moment.

WOW!!  This is a super long post.  lol  I promise no more like this for a long time.  lol  Take care.

Carrie, Glad things are getting better and back to normal! I've been enjoying your new projects also. Great job on all you've accomplished so far this year! I am anxious to check out the other blogs you mentioned as well as your etsy shop. It looks like you accomplished a lot in three months. Before you know it, you will be enjoying the summer with your beautiful boys! Again, awesome job!

Hi Carrie,

You sure have been one busy gal! The photo collage of the boys is adorable. Thank you so much for thinking of me and passing along the Liebster Blog Award. Some day I might make 200 followers :-)
