I can't believe I've actually had time to spend in my scrapbooking room the last few days. It's been so hot here that the boys and I really haven't had much to do besides stay in where it's cool. So I've been having lots of exciting fun using my new stamp sets that came last Friday. I have lots of projects that I'm just dying to make in the next few weeks.
I know I usually post my weekly challenge card on Monday night, but it just wasn't happening last night. So I'm sharing it tonight. I decided to do the Create with Mary and Connie Challenge this week. They were offering two different challenges this week. A color challenge and a sketch challenge or combine them. I decided to go with the sketch. However, I did change it a little bit. I made my first ever round card. It was so easy. All I did was take a 5x5(that's probably a little bigger than you need) folded card and placed the fold in a little ways on the Scallop Circle Die and cut it out using the Big Shot. Next, I stamped my flowers from the new set Field Flowers in Poppy Parade Classic ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, heat embossed the centers with Early Espresso Craft Ink and cut them out. I stamped the stem directly onto the First Edition Specialty Paper and inked the edges. The edge of the DSP is hand stitched with some floss(that is a very close match to the Early Espresso) that I found in my sewing basket. Finally, I heat embossed the greeting with Early Espresso Craft Ink and added some ribbon and a Mini Vintage Tag. The colors I used were Early Espresso, Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday. Take care.
